Day 1st. Paro – Thimphu
Your warm welcome to Bhutan. Nice India Travel representative will receive you at the airport and assist you to the hotel by booked vehicle. Representative will discuss about entire tour program and basic things to prepare during trip in Bhutan after reach in the hotel. After check-in, you will have free time till lunch. From the afternoon, you will go to The Tashichho Dzong which is a famous Buddhist monastery located in northern Thimphu. It was originally built by Lama Gyalwa Lhanangpa in 1216. The National Memorial is also known as Thimphu Chorten which built by Bhutan’s 3rd Kind – H M Jigme Dorji Wangchuk who was the father of modern Bhutan. After all sightseeing and dinner overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 2nd. Thimphu
After morning breakfast, you will go for Thimphu sightseeing and the first place will be to visit – The Changangkha Lhakhang Buddhist Temple which is the centre of Thimphu main city. The oldest temple of Thimphu established in the 12th century by Lama Phajo Drukgom Shigpo who came from Tibet. Local people especially parents traditionally come her to get auspicious names of their new born or blessings for their young children from the protector deity Tamdrin. Children are blessed by a phurba (ritual dagger) and given a sacred thread. After that head to the Jungshi Handmade Paper factory where you can see the traditional method of paper making. After that you will go to Cheri or Chagri Dorjeden Monastery which elevation is 2850 and established in 1620 by Ngawang, 1sr Zhabdrung Rinpoche (Founder of the Bhutan State). After dinner overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 3rd. Punakha
Post early breakfast, head to Punakha via Dochula Pass. You will stop there for have a cup of tea at Dochula which elevation is 3100 meter. From there you can see amazing views of the Himalaya ranges. After arrive in Punakha you will go to The Chimi Lhakang or the Chimel Lhakang which is a Buddhist monastery. This is located in a small village called Lobesa and it was established by Ngawang Choegyel, the 14th Drukpaheirarch. After dinner overnight stay in Punakha hotel.
Day 4th. Punakha
After breakfast, you will go for hike towards Khamsun Yuley Namgyel Chhorten which is 7 Km north from Punakha. The Chorten is located on the height and you can hike through beautiful rice and woods paddies. After that you will go to The Punakha Dzong which is historically a famous place and its served as the capital of the country from 1637 – 1907 and the first national assembly was hosted here in 1953. This place is the second oldest and second largest dzong in Bhutan. Recently this place was popular because the wedding of the King Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, and his fiancé, Jetsun Pema, was held in Punakha Dzong. After visit, all these places and dinner overnight stay in Punakha hotel.
Day 5th. Punakha – Paro
After breakfast, drive to Paro and then you will hike to Taktsang Monastery which is also known as the Tiger’s Nest and its elevation is 3120 meters. This is the most iconic and religious site in Bhutan which built in 1692 where Guru Rinpoche was meditated in 7th century AD. To visit here you have to walk through shady pine forests around 2 – 3 hours. The Taktsang Monastery is genuine pride of Bhutan. After visit, here you will go to The Jowo Temple of Kyichu which is also one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. It was built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th Century AD. The next visit will be National Handcrafts Emporium which is run by the Ntional Woman’s Association of Bhutan as a Non-Government Organization which comes under the royal supervision of Her Royal Highness Azhi Sonam Choden Wangchuk. After dinner overnight stay in Paro hotel.
Day 6th. Paro
After breakfast move to airport and then you will departure for your native country.
